FRIENDS

When you become a mother at a young age, you quickly learn the "friend" lesson, which you may have learnt a bit later on in life.

Naturally, friendships change when you become a mum, your priorities change and free time would sometimes rather be spent with your children or sleeping lol. But the true friends always shine through.

The real friends are not the ones that just want to know if you're still with the father, or the ones that want to see your baby when it's born - but never again.

I have had good luck with friendships, with the exception of only a couple. I met my best friend at the age of 11, and now at 20 I consider her to be a very special young lady. It takes a lot to be a friend, let alone a best friend of a young mum. I suppose It's almost as if you lose your best friend at first, to a baby. The terribly magnificent duo adventures we had would come to a sudden end. No more partying till dawn and running away to our secret corner. I admire her so much, because not once did she lure me away from my responsibilities as a mother. In fact, she made sure I was doing the best I could. She has been, and continues to be massively supportive, I cannot thank her enough, the love she automatically had for my son was just the cherry on the top.

I lost a lot of friends soon after having my son, but the important people stayed, and in life that's how it always is. The special ones won't let you go.
