Teenage parents are not failures
Why are teenage mothers frowned upon so much?
What exactly is it that they have done wrong?
Is it because they had relations before the age of 20? Not to mention that the legal age to have sex in England is 16.
Is it the fact that they brought a child into the world without having the financial capability to raise it? Because if so that is the situation with even grown women these days, including married couples.
Is it because ignorance makes you believe that a teenager cannot look after a baby? We see so many cases in this country about mothers abusing their children, when have these mothers been teenagers?
Why should a girl who took the life changing decision to have a baby be frowned upon, but a girl who has had repeat abortions be seen as a normal young girl. It is such an old saying so why do people still judge a book by it's cover.
"Teenage mothers are made out to be scheming, but a lot are in a bad place and need support rather than be condemned"

This picture made me chuckle to be honest. My answer to her would be I am doing both and you are doing none. Funny that her best friend Justin beiber is actually a product of a teen pregnancy.
Why are such campaigns trying to shame teen parents, instead of encouraging them to carry on and do better.
There is nothing wrong about campaigning to try to reduce the amount of teen pregnancies. I agree, there needs to be more focus on avoiding teen pregnancies, as many lead to abortions which can mentally damage a young couple and even physically damage a young girl.
But what was the need in using that catch phrase. " You should be changing the world..." The phrase is targeted to already teen parents. So how exactly is that going to help the campaign?
I would be offended but the fact that it had Carly rae jepsons face on it just made me think, who are you again?
The other day I went to the GP and the doctor asked how old my son was.
"WOOW you had him a bit young didn't you"
I didn't know if that was my que to compliment her on her maths skills. I thought the comment was inappropriate, especially coming from a female doctor.

I'm very use to rude and random remarks. It's only when someone takes the time to really get to know you and have a real conversation with you that they realise that you're actually doing an amazing job.
I understand why I am judged and why I am stereotyped, but shaming teenage parents is not going to make them go away.
I don't need acceptance and I don't need your approval, but if you are going to comment, think before you speak.
